XMLRPC functionaliteit van WordPress (Jetpack)

Als je de plugin Jetpack voor WordPress probeert te installeren krijg je mogelijk de volgende melding:

 

Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible    Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 403]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com.

 Hiervoor is xmlrpc functionaliteit benodigd in WordPress. Deze is bij ons standaard uitgeschakeld, vanwege beveilings issues. Je kunt het per site aan zetten door dit in het  .htaccess toe te voegen via FTP:
 

<Files "xmlrpc.php">  allow from all  </Files>

Alternatief kun je dit bestand ook bewerken via WordPress met een plugin zoals deze, of als je Yoast hebt geinstalleerd; via Yoast->Edit Files.
